A little postal know-how.

Keep the unit. An apartment or suite can be essential to the delivery point.
Use the postal state code. Two letters, then a five-digit ZIP or ZIP+4.
Keep meaning intact. Preserve street directionals, hyphens and fractions. Never invent ZIP+4 digits.
Street addresses & apartments +
Use the house number, street name, any required directional, street suffix and unit. USPS prefers uppercase for automated readability; punctuation can usually be omitted. Keep meaningful hyphens and fractions.
Use standard suffixes such as ST, AVE and RD when confirmed. This formatter preserves street-name wording to avoid changing a name by mistake; a USPS lookup can standardize it against postal data.

Write PO BOX followed by the assigned box number or letter. Keep its matching city, state and ZIP. Use the delivery destination you intend; do not mix an unrelated street address into the box line.

Use the recipient’s full name, unit/PSC/CMR and box details. Enter APO, FPO or DPO in the city field and AA, AE or AP in the state field. Use the assigned ZIP and available ZIP+4. Omit the foreign city and country.
AA covers the Americas except Canada; AE covers Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Canada; AP covers the Pacific.

Choose the correct postal territory code. For Puerto Rico, include the urbanization name above the delivery line when assigned. Keep the official Spanish street name; translating it can create the wrong address.

Formatting checks layout and field syntax. USPS standardization matches postal data and can return corrections and ZIP+4. Delivery Point Validation (DPV), when returned, supplies additional information about the delivery point and unit.
A match does not confirm who lives there, that a recipient accepts mail, or that a particular item is guaranteed to arrive. This site is independent of USPS.
